What is trSculpt® iD?
TruSculpt® iD is a non-invasive body sculpting technique to reduce pockets of fat while tightening your skin. The hands-free device heats and destroys fat cells using monopolar radiofrequency energy in 15-minute sessions.
During your session, we place applicators on the target area and secure them with clear plastic wraps. These wraps hold the applicators in place as they heat and break down the fat cells. Depending on the size of the treatment area, some patients may receive treatment in multiple areas simultaneously.
The damaged cells are broken down and filtered through your body’s system over the following twelve weeks for an average of 24% fat reduction. Some patients see a decrease in the appearance of cellulite due to improved circulation with truSculpt® iD treatments.

Am I a Good Candidate for truSculpt® iD?
If you are interested in targeting pockets of fat that are not responding to diet or exercise, you are a good candidate for truSculpt® iD treatments. TruSculpt® iD is safe for all skin types and can target fat in the abdomen, buttocks, arms, bra lines, and back.
While most body contouring treatments require a BMI lower than 30, truSculpt® iD is FDA-cleared for patients with a body mass index over 30. TruSculpt® iD can only target pockets of fat and is not a weight loss solution. Before starting treatments, we recommend you be within 20 or 30 pounds of your target body weight.
At Essential Med, we do not recommend truSculpt® iD body contouring for patients who are pregnant, struggling with a chronic illness, have a cardiac pacemaker or defibrillator, or want more extensive results that would be better achieved through surgery. Is There Any Downtime with truSculpt® iD?
There is no downtime with truSculpt® iD treatments. Most patients return to their daily lives immediately after their sessions. You may experience some flushing, swelling, or discomfort in the treatment area, but it is minimal and resolves within 24 hours.
TruSculpt® iD is a perfect treatment for those with busy lives, as it only takes 15 minutes for most areas. You may go to your appointment during your lunch break and return to work immediately.

Does truSculpt® iD Hurt?
TruSculpt® iD treatments are painless. During your session, the hands-free devices gradually heat up in cycles using radiofrequency energy to break apart the fat cells. The device heats the layer to around 113 degrees Fahrenheit while keeping the skin a few degrees cooler. The treatment is never painful.
Most patients experiencing a truSculpt® iD body contouring treatment say it feels similar to a hot stone massage. Your skin remains at a comfortable temperature during the entire session, making it a painless and effective body contouring treatment.
